Experiments in movement and levity
A series of unique interpretations of form and balance, handcrafted by the designer, and available only in singular editions.
“I wanted to do something other than make product that has a function and serves a purpose. To explore the idea of somethings existence in a space as its only function. The worlds of fashion and jewelry understand quite well how simple adornment can be function enough and I wanted to take this mentality and blend it with product and architecture to make jewelry for the home.”
These kinetic artifacts are comprised mostly of wood and brass, and painstakingly coerced into shape by hand. Allowing some of the imperfections and blemishes to show was a conscious decision that reinforces the notion that the work has its own personality and character. And when the pieces are set in motion and the viewer embraces the conversation, these personalities become the subject.
